The French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), and the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) announced that they co-organized the first European Career Forum 2022 from May 16 to May 20, 2022 with the aim of providing job matchmaking opportunities for global-minded Korean and European talents and European companies.

More than 45 world-renowned European companies across all sectors including Luxury Business Group, Accor, BASF, Dassault Systemes, Mercedes-Benz, Nokia, Renault Motors, and Total participated in the forum to present career opportunities with 127 job offers to nearly 600 talents across Korea and Europe.

Through a Grand Opening session held online on May 16, 2022, in presence of H.E Maria& Castillo-Fernandez, EU Ambassador to Korea, H.E. Philippe Lefort, French Ambassador to Korea, and H.E. Michael Reiffenstuel, German Ambassador to Korea, participants could learn about market and recruiting trends among European-invested companies in Korea. “It is a very good initiative for all our young people in Europe and Korea, following the Europe Day on May 9 that celebrated a unique union of 27 countries based on universal and democratic values that has brought prosperity to our countries for 72 years now”, said H.E Maria& Castillo-Fernandez.

The forum was designed for young Korean job seekers wanting to boost their career internationally, as well as European job seekers looking for opportunities in South Korea. “In the post-Covid era, this forum reflects well the recovery of the job market and the growing attractivity of European companies in Korea, which employ dozens of thousands of talents on the Peninsula, 26,000 in the case France”, said Mr. David-Pierre Jalicon, FKCCI Chairman. “Germany and Korea offer an excellent ecosystem to foster innovation which is why both countries rank in the top positions in Bloomberg’s Innovation Index. A key driver for innovation are the smart people. What we are trying to achieve with this Career Forum is to connect smart people with smart companies to drive innovation and added-value to the next level.”, added Dr. Martin Henkelmann, CEO & President of KGCCI.

With 12 partners including Chambers of Commerce from Europe, Belgium, Finland, Italia, Spain, and Sweden, and Embassies from Europe, France, Germany and Belgium, the European Career Forum 2022 was held fully online on a leading virtual job dating platform dubbed Seekube, and featured more than 40 live sessions including companies’ presentations and training sessions by HR specialists to advice job seekers on how to boost their career.
